Adding
beautiful art work to your apparatus can turn an ordinary piece of equipment
into a thing of beauty. The unquestioned master of this was Theo Bamberg
(Okito). His apparatus is highly sought after by professionals and
collectors alike. With the application of water slide decals to your
apparatus, you too can turn your equipment into things of beauty.
Water slide decals are decals that are removed from the backing material in water and applied to your work. While Okito used transfers because there were no edges on the application, the technology for making them yourself is not available. Normally water slide decals leave an edge around them that is noticeable. I make mine with borders that I can trim to and leave no edge. The overall effect is the same as what you would get with a transfer.
If you are interested in making water slide decals on your own color printer, you may contact me for the link to the page that gives you the source for the materials needed and explains in detail how it's done. My e-mail address is doctorb@hmcmagic.com
The site also includes several images that you can use to make your water slide decals. You are free to use these decals for your own equipment, but not to be offered for sale, either as decals or on apparatus that you make, without the express written permission of H. Marshall and Company, Inc.
